The latest version of this revolutionary new LED caving lamp is ideal for caving (speleology), mine exploration and underground services inspection. Robust, portable and lightweight, with traditionally-favoured through-the-headset charging, it features an incredibly small maintenance-free rechargeable lithium ion (Li-ion) battery in a solid, impact-resistant anti-static housing. The primary light source is a powerful 1W ultra bright white LED, with 2 brightness levels (1W for main beam, 0.4W for pilot beam). Brighter than previous models, with up to 15 hours burn time (main beam) and up to 40 hours (pilot beam). The headset, cable and battery total a miserly 600g in weight. This LED headlight provides a bright, reliable source of lighting for caving (speleology) and mine exploration and the is now water resistant to 1.5 atmospheres (15 metres). It is also an ideal inspection lamp, eg for inspecting drains, sewers and tunnels. The Lithium-ion battery pack is both compact and lightweight, , and fits snugly onto a standard 40mm wide battery belt or tucks neatly into an oversuit or boiler suit pocket. The main light source, a 1W ultra bright white LED mounted within a robust headset, gives an impressively bright, focussed beam that truly outshines its competitors. A new safety feature of this lamp is that when battery charge is running low (approximately 1 hour's usage remaining on main beam, several hours for the pilot light) the LED gives a warning flash at regular intervals, whilst still remaining perfectly usable.
